East and West Surrey says Government

The Government has published a decision about Surrey’s new council structure opting for 2 new unitary councils. The East Surrey Council is to be made up of Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, Dorking and Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead, Tandridge. The deciding factor was the financial sustainability of the two new authorities and Woking’s debt has been reduced by £500m to help with the future of the West Surrey Council. The new East Surrey Council will have two councillors per current county division.
